PERSONAL INSURANCE · SPECIALTY COVERAGE
Specialty insurance for what a standard policy may miss.
Boats, RVs, motorcycles, valuable belongings and properties used differently from a primary home deserve a closer look. We’ll help you identify the right questions, review available options and understand what coverage would—and would not—do.
Start with a description of the item or property and where you need coverage. Eligibility, policy terms and carrier availability vary.

START WITH HOW YOU USE IT
What makes the risk different?
Two people can own similar things but need different policies. How often you use a vehicle or boat, where it is stored, whether others use it and whether a property is rented all matter. We can start with those facts rather than assuming a standard home or auto policy fills every gap.
RVs, boats & powersports
Tell us what you own—motorhome, travel trailer, boat, motorcycle or off-road vehicle—how it is used and who operates it. Ask about liability, physical damage, accessories, storage, towing and on-the-water or campsite exposure as applicable.
Valuables & collections
Jewelry, artwork, instruments and collectibles can have special limits or exclusions under a home policy. An inventory, appraisal or recent receipt may help determine whether scheduled or separate coverage is worth discussing.
Seasonal & rental properties
A second home, vacant property or short-term rental is not always treated like your primary residence. Share the occupancy and rental details so a licensed professional can check the appropriate property and liability options.
PROPERTY GAPS
Flood calls for a separate question.
Standard homeowners policies generally exclude flood damage. A separate flood policy may be available for the building and its contents, subject to eligibility, limits and any waiting period. Water backup and flood are not interchangeable—ask which cause of loss you are trying to address.
Other specialized risks, including earthquake, depend on the property, state and policy. We will not assume that every market or endorsement is available for every address.
What to ask about any specialty policy
- What property, activity and people does it cover?
- What are the limits, deductibles, exclusions and waiting periods?
- Does the coverage apply while the item is in storage, in transit or being used by someone else?
- Is coverage provided by a separate policy or an endorsement to an existing one?
MAKE THE FIRST CONVERSATION USEFUL
Bring the details that change the answer.
If you have them, note the make, model or description, approximate value, storage address and typical use. For a home or rental, include the property address, occupancy and any recent changes. Current declarations pages are helpful but not required to start.
We begin with available Farmers options. When appropriate and permitted, our licensed team may also explore approved additional markets. A licensed professional will confirm what can actually be offered for your state, product and circumstances.
Share policy details securely
A brief inquiry is enough to begin. Do not put Social Security numbers, payment information or policy documents in the request form. To share current insurance information securely, use our policy-connection option.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you reach out.
Your existing policies are the starting point, not proof that every item or use is covered.
Does my homeowners policy cover my boat or valuables?
Do not assume full property or liability coverage. Limits and exclusions vary, and a separate policy or scheduled coverage may be appropriate. Bring the details so we can review the wording.
Can you insure my RV or motorcycle?
Tell us the vehicle, where it is kept and how it is used. A licensed team member can confirm whether a suitable policy is available and what information is needed.
Is flood included in home insurance?
Generally no. Standard home policies usually exclude flood; ask about a separate flood policy and its limits, deductibles and effective date.
Is this an instant quote or guaranteed coverage?
No. The form starts a conversation. Product eligibility, policy terms and carrier availability are confirmed by a licensed professional; submitting does not bind or change coverage.
READY TO START?
Ask us about your specialty coverage need.
Tell us what you want to protect, choose Specialty insurance on the form and include the state where coverage is needed. Our team will follow up about the information needed and available next steps. This is a consultation request, not an instant quote.
